With the completion of bridge work on Bhatni-Aundhihar railway section, the speed of trains of Gorakhpur, Mau, Azamgarh, Varanasi, Prayagraj will increase. Many local trains will remain cancelled. Travelers advised to be cautious. Also, the local people have been requested not to go around the track on the day of inspection and also not to leave their cattle on the line, so that no untoward incident happens.
Gorakhpur. North Eastern Railway is rapidly making its network stronger and faster. In this series, cutting-connection work of bridge numbers 84 and 91 on Bhatni-Aundhihar railway section of Varanasi division has been completed. Now trains will be able to run at high speed on these bridges. For this, the Commissioner of Railway Safety (North East Circle) will inspect the entire section on Tuesday 2nd December. During the inspection, there will also be a speed trial between Paniyara Halt and Dullahapur station, in which the safety of the train will be tested by running it at the maximum prescribed speed.
Due to inspection and speed trial, many local and MEMU trains will either be completely canceled or will run partially on Tuesday. The trains being completely canceled include Bhatni-Varanasi City-Bhatni MEMU (65107/65108), Ghazipur City-Varanasi City-Varanasi MEMU (65105/65106) and Mau-Dohrighat-Mau MEMU (65133/65134). Whereas Prayagraj Rambagh-Mau Memu (65132) will terminate in Banaras itself and will not reach Mau. Similarly, Memu (65131) going from Mau to Prayagraj Rambagh will run from Banaras only, that is, it will not run between Mau and Banaras.
Railways has appealed to the passengers to plan their journey in advance and make alternative arrangements. Also, local people have been requested not to go around the track on the day of inspection and also not to leave their cattle on the line, so that no untoward incident happens. After completion of this work, the speed of trains between Bhatni-Aundhihar will increase, which will greatly benefit the passengers traveling to and from Gorakhpur, Mau, Azamgarh, Varanasi and Prayagraj.
Aundhihar-Sarnath-Aundhihar DEMU till 28th February
For the convenience of passengers, the operation of Aundhihar-Sarnath-Aundhihar DEMU special (05163/05164) was extended to daily (total 89 trips) from 2 December 2025 to 28 February 2026. 05163 will leave from Aundhihar at 12:35 pm and reach Sarnath at 13:20, while 05164 will leave from Sarnath at 13:50 and reach Aundhihar at 14:30.
