Srinagar: Saturday brought a new ray of hope for the families of victims of terrorist violence in Jammu and Kashmir. Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha handed over appointment letters to the families of the victims during an emotional ceremony at Lok Bhawan in Srinagar. LG clearly said that the administration is committed to providing jobs, justice and respect to these families. He called it not just a government paper, but a return of the lost trust in the system. LG said that for decades there was no one to wipe the tears of these families. But now the long wait for justice is over. The government has taken concrete steps for rehabilitation, which has restored the dignity of the victims.
More than 200 families got support in a year, Naugam blast victims also got relief
Today, smiles have returned on the faces of 39 families of Kashmir Division. Earlier, 41 such families were given jobs in Jammu. On Friday evening, the families of 9 victims of Naugam blast also received appointment letters. LG said that so far this year, more than 200 families have been given government jobs. This figure shows how fast the administration is disposing of the files. Victims no longer have to visit offices. The government itself is reaching their doorstep.
The ecosystem persecuted the real martyrs, the indifference of the system deepened the wounds.
Manoj Sinha made a scathing attack on the old system and governments. He said that for a long time the system ignored the pain and trauma of these families. Those who were the real victims and true martyrs of terrorism were harassed by elements of the terrorist ecosystem. They were left to fend for themselves. Many generations passed but they did not get the priority they deserved. But now we are strengthening the voice of the victims. We are ensuring that they get their rights. Criminals will not be spared.
When the house was destroyed, the mother brought her up by begging…LG narrated her hair-raising ordeal
LG Sinha looked very emotional during the speech. He mentioned a heart-wrenching incident of the struggle of the victims. He met a victim whose house was destroyed by terrorists. The person told that after the house was destroyed, his mother had to beg to feed the children. Many children became orphans, grew up without parents but no one came forward to help them. LG said that hearing such stories is heart breaking and this inspires us to work.
We will root out terrorism, supporters will also get strict punishment, administration resolves.
The Lieutenant Governor reiterated his government’s resolve. He said that the administration is determined to completely liberate Jammu and Kashmir from terrorism and its ecosystem. Anyone who supports terrorism in any form will be punished severely. It is the responsibility of all of us to protect peace. The administration will ensure that no family faces such sorrow in future. This is the new Jammu and Kashmir where justice is supreme and there is no room for terrorists.
