New Delhi. Indian Railways will provide airline-like food in trains to make the journey of passengers more convenient and pleasant. Big brands like Haldiram have also been included to provide better food. You might be feeling good after hearing this, but how much will you have to pay for this? Knowing this you will jump even more. According to IRCTC, passengers will not need to pay extra money for this meal.
IRCTC supplies more than 16 lakh miles daily in all mail and express trains including Shatabdi, Rajdhani, Tejas, Vande Bharat, Duronto. For better quality, 100 base kitchens have been made in the last three months. Along with this, more new kitchens are being built. Due to which food can be supplied by IRCTC in more trains. Apart from the base kitchen, a big decision has been taken to provide different types of food to the passengers.
This change is happening
IRCTC PRO VK Bhatti said that it has been decided to make major changes in the quality of food in Vande Bharat and Amrit Bharat trains. The company has started proof of concept in select trains, in which big branded food operators have been included. Renowned food and beverage players like Haldiram, Casino Air Caterers, ISKCON, Elior are now serving fresh, hygienic and restaurant-like food to passengers in trains.
Decision after feedback from passengers
Keeping in view the continuous feedback given by the passengers, the target has been set to bring ‘Paradigm Shift’. This experiment has been started in Vande Bharat and Amrit Bharat trains running across the country. Passengers are now being served food in trains like Haldiram’s famous sweets and snacks in Nagpur, ISKCON’s Satvik food in Dwarka, flight quality food in Kerala.
