That people should brush their teeth after waking up in the morning and only then have breakfast. For good oral health, people should definitely brush their teeth in the morning and before sleeping at night. Actually, during sleep, less saliva is produced in the mouth, due to which bacteria grow rapidly. When food is eaten without brushing, these bacteria reach the stomach along with the food. Stomach acid destroys many bacteria, but some harmful bacteria can enter the intestines and cause problems like infection, gas, vomiting and stomach pain. These bacteria cause more harm especially to children and people with weak immunity.
Dr. Gulati told that when you eat food without brushing, the bacteria present in the mouth start forming plaque by mixing with the food particles. This plaque gradually accumulates on the teeth and causes cavities, swollen gums and bad breath. The first brush in the morning removes bacteria from the surface of the teeth and plays an important role in keeping your oral health fresh. Eating food without brushing also has a bad effect on the digestive system. When the bacteria present in the mouth enter the stomach with food, they cause problems in digestion. This can cause problems like acidity, heaviness, gas and sometimes even diarrhea. This habit over a long period of time can damage the lining of the stomach and intestines.
The expert said that the bacteria accumulated in the mouth do not remain only in the stomach, but some bacteria can also enter the blood. This can increase inflammation in the body, which over time affects the skin, immune system and hormonal health. Poor oral hygiene is also related to problems like diabetes, heart disease and weak immunity. Therefore, brushing in the morning is important not only for the teeth but for the entire body. Eating without brushing your teeth also reduces your ability to taste, because bacteria and dirt accumulate on the tongue. Due to this, the real taste of food is not felt and the enzymes required for digestion are also produced less.
