Benefits of Arjuna tree: Arjuna tree is considered a panacea for heart diseases in Ayurveda. Its bark is rich in anti-oxidant, anti-inflammatory and heart strengthening properties. Arjuna bark is usually consumed in the form of powder, decoction or capsules. Ayurvedic doctor said that taking 250 to 500 mg of powder or its decoction twice a day after meals is beneficial. Taking it with lukewarm milk or water is considered beneficial. However, the correct quantity and method of its consumption should be decided only after consultation with a qualified Ayurvedic practitioner or doctor, as it depends on the health condition of the person.
Along with strengthening the heart, Arjuna bark also helps in internal cleansing of the body. Its regular consumption improves blood circulation, controls high BP and strengthens the heart muscles. According to Ayurvedic physician Dr. Rajeev Dixit Kumar, some precautions must be taken while consuming Arjuna bark. Avoid its consumption in cases like pregnancy, breastfeeding and low blood pressure. People who are already taking medicines for heart disease, blood thinners or medicines for diabetes. Apart from this, they should not use it without medical advice. Its consumption should be stopped before any type of surgery. Consuming it in excess may cause side effects like constipation, headache or body ache.
