Lucknow. The troubles of Chandrashekhar Azad, MP from Nagina Lok Sabha seat of Uttar Pradesh and founder of Azad Samaj Party (Kanshi Ram), have increased again. Dr. Rohini Ghavri, a PhD scholar living in Switzerland, who claims to be his ex-girlfriend, has shared a new audio clip on social media platform X. Chandrashekhar’s voice is reportedly heard in this clip, in which he is talking about supporting BJP in the upcoming elections and taking strict action against opposition parties like SP-Congress.
Chandrashekhar rejected the audio
This controversy is not the first time. Since June 2025, Rohini Ghavri has been continuously making personal and political allegations against Chandrashekhar. She has accused him of sexually exploiting her on the pretext of marriage, cheating with many other women and weakening Dalit-Muslim unity at the behest of BJP. In October, he had released another audio, in which Chandrashekhar was allegedly heard making objectionable comments on BSP supremo Mayawati and founder Kanshi Ram. Chandrashekhar had rejected that audio as AI-generated and also filed a case of defamation and threats against Rohini in Delhi Police.
Political conspiracy or personal enmity?
This new claim of Rohini is creating sensation in political circles. Azad Samaj Party workers are calling it a ‘conspiracy of BJP’, while opposition parties like SP and Congress are considering it as evidence of Chandrashekhar’s ‘secret nexus’. A senior SP leader, on the condition of anonymity, said, “If this is true, then it is an attempt to hand over the Dalit vote bank to the BJP. This revelation can be a big blow to the opposition before the 2027 UP assembly elections.”
Chandrashekhar can go to court
On the other hand, Chandrashekhar Azad has not yet given any official reaction on this new audio. According to sources close to him, he will challenge it in the court and call it an example of ‘fake editing’. In October, on Mayawati’s audio, he had said, “I respect sister. Kanshi Ram Saheb is our political guru. All this is fake.” Chandrashekhar had also hit back at Rohini, claiming that she was sponsoring him to tarnish his image.
Who is Rohini Ghavri?
30-year-old Rohini Ghavri, resident of Indore, is a successful PhD scholar, who has worked on projects related to the United Nations while living in Geneva. Describing herself as ‘daughter of Bahujan community’, she has said that this fight is about ‘self-respect and justice’. Rohini has lodged a complaint with the National Commission for Women, but if the police did not file an FIR, she even threatened to commit suicide. He has also accused Chandrashekhar of drinking alcohol, gambling and irregularities in political funding.
