Mithu ji, who runs Rai Ji Ghee Bhandar, says that his father had started this shop about 40 years ago. In the initial days, he used to sell only home-made ghee. When the demand started increasing, the items gradually started increasing. Now there is even a mess in Chandmari Road. All dairy products are prepared there. The demand for bread butter is very high compared to other things. Saket Kumar, who is tasting it, says that he eats one bread with butter every day. Its taste is amazing. They even give me extra rabri.
Similarly, Prashant tells that he has been tasting this bread butter for the last 20 years. Whenever there is lunch in the office, all our colleagues come here and eat it. They also take it for family in the evening. It has very good taste.

Shopkeeper Mithu ji tells that the biggest identity of Rai ji Ghee Bhandar is its purity. Whatever is available here, everything is absolutely pure and fresh. On big festivals like Chhath Puja, the ghee from here is sent all over Patna. The crowd increases so much that people have to stand in long queues and wait for their turn.
Mithu ji tells that due to the presence of judge’s residence, government and private offices next to the shop, the demand for bread and butter always remains there. The bread and butter here reaches the homes of government officials, IAS-IPS, ministers and MLAs. Not only this, when there is a party at VIP people’s place, the cheese also goes from here only. Everyone is confident that the goods taken from here will be completely pure.
Know how much different things cost
At Rai Ji Ghee Bhandar, ghee is available at ₹ 700 per liter, cheese at ₹ 380 per kg, peda and khova at ₹ 400 per kg, while curd is available at ₹ 150 per kg. Khowalai is also ₹400 per kg. Fresh cream is available at ₹350, Kalakand at ₹400 per kg, and butter at ₹450 per kg. Apart from this, Khurma is available at ₹ 400 per kg, Gulab Jamun and Rasgulla at ₹ 15 per piece.
