Ingredients for Bathua Paratha
-Flour – 2 cups
-Salt – as per taste
-Oil or ghee – as per need
-Bathua – 1 cup (washed and finely chopped)
-Green chilli – 1 finely chopped
-Cumin – 1 teaspoon
-Celery – 1 tsp
-Ginger – 1 teaspoon grated
Mango powder – half teaspoon
-Red chilli – half teaspoon
-Turmeric – half teaspoon
-Coriander powder – 1 teaspoon
-Water – as per need
How to make Bathua Paratha? (How To Make Bathua Paratha)
1. Preparing the dough
First of all, put flour in a big vessel. Add some salt and 2 spoons of oil or ghee in it. Now mix it well with hands, so that the dough becomes slightly soft.
2. Mixing bathua and spices
First wash the bathua with clean water and dry it. Then chop it finely and mix it in the flour. After this add green chilli, ginger, red chilli, turmeric, coriander powder and dry mango powder. If you want, you can increase or decrease the level of spices as per your taste.
Now add cumin and celery in the flour. Both these things bring special aroma and light crispness to the paratha.
3. Kneading the dough
Knead the dough by adding water little by little. Keep in mind that the dough should neither be too hard nor too loose. When the dough is ready, cover it and keep it for about 15 minutes, so that it becomes soft and easy to roll.
4. Rolling and baking paratha
