Is Roti Increase Weight Gain: Rice and Roti are two main types of food in India. Almost everyone eats this every day. Roti is consumed more than rice, but can eating roti lead to weight gain? Does roti also increase blood sugar? Dr. Manu Bora has told about this on Instagram.
Is Roti Increase Weight Gain: There is hardly anyone in the country who does not eat bread or food made from wheat. It is the mainstay of our country’s food. But Dr. Manu Bora has said something unique on social media about roti. He said that bread is the main reason for weight gain. Not only this, roti also increases blood sugar. He has told on social media that eating roti causes bloating and the digestion process slows down. After this he also says that bread is not a bad thing. It is bad when you eat it wrongly or eat it in excess. It depends on how many rotis you eat and how you eat them, whether the roti will increase your weight or not.
When does bread start causing harm?
Dr. Manu Bora has told that most of us eat too much bread. Some people have breakfast with four rotis in the morning. After this, we eat roti in the evening and then at night also. In this way they eat bread three times a day. Not only bread, people consume a lot of things made from wheat in their daily life. Many packaged items like biscuits, cookies are made from wheat only. This harm becomes more severe when we eat it without green vegetables or pulses. This is where bread starts causing harm. When you eat roti without these things, you will not get fiber in it because there is very little fiber in roti. If you do not get fiber then digestion will slow down and metabolism will become slow. After this, the story that started with stomach upset will reach the blood. Since wheat contains high amount of carbohydrates which will start increasing in the blood. This will also increase the blood sugar level. If this process continues regularly, the risk of diabetes will also increase.
what is the solution to this
Dr. Manu Bora tells that the problem is not in the bread, but in the way you eat it. Therefore, whenever you eat roti, fill your plate properly first. Increase the quantity of green vegetables and pulses in it. An ideal thali should have half of it filled with lentils and green vegetables. Limit the amount of bread and increase the amount of vegetables. The more vegetables you include in your diet, the more benefits you will get. Complete 20 to 30 percent of your daily diet with pulses and vegetables. It contains sufficient amount of antioxidants which will prevent inflammation in the cells and reduce the risk of diseases. After this, include fruits in your diet daily. A balance of green vegetables and fruits will help a lot in making your life disease free.
