Vishal Kumar/Chhapra: Chhapra Sadar Hospital of Bihar will soon be seen in a new form. Another building is going to be built here. This new building will have 50 beds. Let us tell you that the ruined building of Sadar Hospital, built during the British rule two centuries ago, is now going to become history. A new modern building will be constructed in its place. The team of contractors has started the work of demolishing the old building. It is said that about 200 years ago the British had constructed this building using a mixture of lime and Surkhi. The quality of construction can be gauged from the fact that this building with 20 inches thick walls has been covered with dozens of huge trees including Peepal, Bad-Pakad for years. Despite bearing so much load, only cracks have appeared in the walls of the building but the structure is still standing firmly. The brick used in the wall is quite heavy. The weight of one brick is said to be 5 to 8 kg.
As soon as the demolition work of the dilapidated building of the old Sadar Hospital started, many poisonous snakes have emerged. More than half a dozen snakes have been caught so far. There is a possibility of even bigger snakes hiding inside the building. Demolishing these ruins has also become a challenge. It is being told that in place of this building, a modern CCU with 50 bed capacity is now being built. With this, heart attack and serious heart patients will be able to get immediate treatment in the cardiac care unit. Now the need to refer patients outside will reduce to a great extent.
