Ghazipur: Under the Sahitya Chetna Samaj, an idea-expression competition was held at New Horizon Academy, Tulsi Sagar on Sunday. This time the topic on which the children of class 7-8 spoke was very important for Ghazipur. Regarding taste and nutritional balance, the children told in their own style how the eating habits of the city are changing rapidly.
Where earlier there was one chaat seller, now 10 are standing.
Many children said that fast food and chaat stalls are increasing at various places in Ghazipur. Irrigation Department Square, Jhunnulal Square, Tulsi Sagar, everywhere there are carts of Samosa, Momos, Manchurian, Panipuri, burgers lined up. A student said that earlier there were more fruit shops, now only fried and Chinese food is available at most places. Taste has taken over, nutrition has disappeared.
15 year old boy’s condition worsens
A student narrated the real incident, where she said that a 15 year old boy used to eat Panipuri every day. Gradually his habit increased so much that weakness and diseases started. The doctor said that the age is 15, but the condition has become like that of 40. According to medical studies, eating fried foods daily can lead to obesity, hormonal imbalance and premature ageing.
A student told that most of the carts use reheated oil. This is most harmful for the body. It is also true that eating fried food and loose food every day spoils the body quickly. FSSAI also cites frequently used oil as being high in trans-fat, which increases heart diseases. The Food Department also warns from time to time that repeatedly used oil increases diseases.
Bad for both pocket money and health
A child said that 40-50 rupees are spent every day on pizza and burgers and there are so many stalls that one feels like eating after seeing them. Children said that the smell of food on the streets of Ghazipur is so strong that no one is able to stop themselves. A class 8 student said that taste lasts for a while, but health remains with you always. The organizers of this competition were Amarnath Tiwari ‘Amar’ – Founder, Prabhakar Tripathi, Organization Secretary – Chief Guest, Dr. Sanand Singh, Shivam Prakash Tripathi, Anand Prakash Aggarwal, Manoj Srivastava, Vivek Saurabh etc.
