At the G20 summit, Prime Minister Narendra Modi discussed increasing bilateral cooperation with many global leaders including Georgia Meloni, Mark Carney, Sanae Takaichi, Kristalina Georgieva.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi met Italian Prime Minister Georgia Meloni and said that India-Italy strategic partnership is continuously strengthening. Both the leaders agreed to further increase cooperation in areas like trade, investment, defence, innovation, AI, space and education. PM Modi also met with Canadian PM Mark Carney. While sharing its picture on social media, PM wrote that after the last meeting held during G7, India-Canada relations have gained momentum. Both the leaders decided to further expand the partnership in trade, investment, technology, innovation, energy and education and this will give impetus to bilateral relations.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi held an important and useful meeting with Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi. The two leaders discussed accelerating bilateral partnership in innovation, defense cooperation, talent mobility and other key areas. PM Modi said that efforts are on to further strengthen trade relations between India and Japan. He also said that a strong India-Japan partnership is extremely important for a better and stable world.

Prime Minister’s meeting PM Modi has met Kristalina Georgieva, head of the International Monetary Fund. PM Modi spoke to the Managing Director of IMF during the G20 summit in Johannesburg. Issues related to the global economy were also discussed between the two.
PM Modi discussed with Netherlands Prime Minister Dick Scoof. Both the leaders met, the photo of which was shared by the PM from his official account and he said that India-Netherlands cooperation is growing rapidly, especially in water management, innovation, technology and energy sectors. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also met Ethiopia’s PM Abiy Ahmed during the G-20 summit. PM Modi said that relations between India and Ethiopia are historical and development-oriented. In the meeting, there was talk on increasing cooperation in technology, skilling and other key areas.
PM Modi also held bilateral talks with Sierra Leone President Julius Maada Bio during the summit. PM Modi said that relations between India and Sierra Leone are people-centric, future-oriented and based on trust. Both the countries emphasized on further strengthening the partnership.
PM Modi also met German Chancellor Friedrich Merz. India-Germany relations are very strong. There was discussion on further increasing cooperation between the two countries in areas like trade, technology and innovation.
PM Modi also met Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh. After the meeting of the two leaders, the friendship between India and Vietnam is based on a strong commitment for the future. Both the leaders emphasized on increasing strategic cooperation.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi had very fruitful discussions with Singapore Prime Minister Lawrence Wong and said that the India-Singapore partnership remains a strong force for regional development and stability. Both the leaders expressed their commitment to take forward mutual cooperation and work together on new possibilities in the times to come.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi also met Angola’s President Lourenco. Sharing the details of the meeting on social media, PM Modi said that India and Angola are working together to strengthen trade and cultural relations. He said that India attaches great importance to its friendship with Angola.
PM Modi also met Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim and both the countries agreed to increase bilateral cooperation and work together in new areas.
India’s relations with France are very good. PM Modi also met French President Emmanuel Macron at the G-20 and said that the India-France relationship is a force for global good. Both the leaders had in-depth discussions on many important issues. Both also talked about increasing cooperation in technology and other fields.
During the G20 summit, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also met South Korean President Lee Jae Myung. This is the second meeting of the two leaders this year, which shows the growing momentum of the India-Korea Special Strategic Partnership.
