Ranchi Birsa Munda Jail New: Jharkhand jail itself has become a cause of disgrace for the jail management. Regarding the video of the jail which went viral on social media, the jail management has reviewed the responsibilities of the jailer and the jail superintendent and given them new responsibilities. The jail management has also taken strict decisions after review. While all the personnel inside Ranchi’s Birsa Munda Jail have been replaced, some have even been suspended.
Ranchi. After the mobile video from inside the jail surfaced, while the court took the issue seriously, the jail management is also trying to improve its image. While a decision has been taken to increase CCTV inside the jail, the jailer and jail superintendent have also been given new responsibilities. The jailer has been given the responsibility of monitoring the CCTV DVR daily. Along with this, the Jail Superintendent has also been given the responsibility of monitoring the CCTV DVR every two days, so that if any irregularity is noticed, action can be taken in time. On the matter, the Jail IG said that if the DVR was being monitored, this video would not have surfaced today nor would such a complaint have been received.
Strictness in CCTV monitoring
Now a decision has been taken to increase the number of CCTV cameras inside the jail. The jailer has been given the responsibility of monitoring the CCTV DVR daily and the jail superintendent has been given the responsibility of monitoring the DVR every two days, so that any irregularity can be detected in time. Jail IG said that if DVR monitoring was already being done, this video would not have surfaced nor would there have been such a complaint.

The reason for this is that it is difficult to say who is guilty in which case. Therefore, everyone from clerk to computer operator has been removed so that the roots of corruption do not become strong in the jail.
