Delhi NCR Air Pollution: Union Minister Bhupendra Yadav reviewed the action plans of Gurugram and Faridabad regarding the increasing pollution in Delhi-NCR. Officials have been instructed to enter the field, identify hotspots and take strict action.
Faridabad/ Gurugram: The government now seems to be strict regarding the continuously increasing air pollution in Delhi-NCR. In this series, Union Environment Minister Bhupendra Yadav held a high-level review meeting of the pollution control action plan of Gurugram and Faridabad on Tuesday. This meeting is part of the meetings being held in different cities of Delhi-NCR to reduce pollution. The objective of the meeting is to understand the true picture of the situation at the ground level and achieve concrete results.
Instructions to officers to enter the field
During the meeting, the Union Minister gave clear instructions to the officials that they should not be limited to just files, but should go to the field and inspect. He said that pollution hotspots should be identified in cities and the causes of pollution there should be eliminated on priority basis. The minister also said that the action should be such that its impact is clearly visible on the ground.
Special emphasis given on public participation
The Union Minister said that government efforts alone are not enough to deal with the problem of pollution. Participation of common people is also very important in this. He stressed on the active role of the public in works like cleaning the cities, increasing greenery and not spreading garbage in the open.
