The Meteorological Department has issued an alert of rain and snowfall in Kashmir, Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh.
Today Weather: The entire North India is in the grip of fog and cold. The Meteorological Department has issued an alert of dense fog in 10 states including Uttar Pradesh. On one hand, there is a possibility of snowfall and rain in the mountains, while on the other hand, dense fog along with cold has started spreading in the plains. The Meteorological Department has issued a warning of rain and snowfall in Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Jammu and Kashmir in the next 24 to 48 hours.
On one hand, the temperature in the plains has started falling due to icy westerly winds, while on the other hand, fog has affected the normal life. The minimum temperature in Delhi remains between 8 to 9 degrees Celsius. According to the temperature forecast of the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of mercury rising in Delhi, Punjab, Haryana and Rajasthan for the next two days. At the same time, there is no possibility of any change in temperature in other parts of the country for the next 7 days. Here, the Meteorological Department has issued a warning of rain in Andaman and Nicobar and Tamil Nadu in the next 48 hours.
cold wave warning
The Meteorological Department issued a cold wave warning and said that the next 24-48 hours are very critical. Although there is no cold wave warning for the plains of Northern India, the entire Central India and Eastern India will remain in the grip of cold wave till December 14. The Meteorological Department said that Madhya Pradesh, Marathwada, West Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Odisha will remain in the grip of cold wave for the next 24 hours. At the same time, Telangana and Karnataka will also remain in the grip of cold wave till 14 December.
If we talk about fog
Half of the month of December is about to pass, but most of North India is not in the grip of fog as it is expected to be. However, dense fog is occurring in most of the states. In view of the dense fog in Uttar Pradesh, the Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert, while a yellow alert has been issued for dense fog in six states of the plains and 6 states of the North East. The Meteorological Department said that all the 6 states of North East, apart from Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi, there will be fog from today till December 16. In view of low visibility due to dense fog, the Meteorological Department has advised to be careful while driving on roads and highways in the morning. The Meteorological Department has issued a warning of very dense fog in Uttar Pradesh.
Temperature dropped in many states
It is extremely cold in most parts of the country. In many states the temperature has reached 1.6 to 3 degrees below normal. Let’s see how the temperature is in most parts of the country.
States with temperatures 1.6 to 3 degrees Celsius below normal
- In states like Eastern Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Karnataka, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Jharkhand, Himachal Pradesh etc., the minimum temperature has been recorded 1.6 to 3 degrees Celsius below normal.
- In Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Telangana, West Bengal, Assam, Meghalaya, the minimum temperature is being recorded 3.5 to 5 degrees Celsius lower than normal.
- If we talk about the place with lowest temperature in the plains, then the minimum temperature was recorded at 4 degrees Celsius in Adampur, Punjab.
- The hottest place was recorded in Kannur, Kerala where the maximum temperature was 35 degrees Celsius.
