Lucknow News: Today, action by security agencies against drugs was seen at many places in UP. Many arrests have been made from Lucknow to Pilibhit. At many places, actions were taken on the information of informers. In the last 6 months, more than 75 kg of drugs have been seized from Lucknow Airport.
Lucknow. 2.7 kg of ganja has been seized at Lucknow airport in UP. Its price is said to be ₹ 12.7 crore. A man and two women have been arrested with ganja. An attempt was being made to smuggle through the flight from Bangkok. The accused had come by Air Asia flight FD-146. Vacuum-sealed packets were found in the bag at check-in. Field test revealed cannabis. This action was taken on the secret information of DRI. A case has been registered under the NDPS Act. In the last 6 months, more than 75 kg of drugs have been seized by DRI from Lucknow Airport. Their value has been estimated to be more than Rs 70 crore. A couple involved in opium smuggling has been arrested in Pilibhit. Both are residents of Jharkhand. 1104 grams of opium, two mobile phones and Rs 1770 in cash were recovered from their possession.

The Special Task Force (STF) of Uttar Pradesh Police has also taken a major action and arrested two smugglers with drugs worth Rs 80 lakh. Both the smugglers were connected to the interstate network. On receiving information from the informer, the Special Task Force caught two smugglers traveling in a Tata Safari car near Gabbar Dhaba located on Sultanpur Road in Gosaiganj area of Lucknow. When the car was searched, 523 grams of MDMA (Methylenedioxy-Methamphetamine), which is a banned drug, was recovered. STF Deputy SP Dharmesh Kumar Shahi said that his team was keeping an eye on the drug smuggling network for a long time. Information was received that two smugglers were going to pass through with a huge quantity of drugs. STF laid siege near Gabbar Dhaba and arrested the smugglers.
Supply in jails also
The arrested smugglers have been identified as Mohammad Mujeeb and Mukesh Singh. Mujeeb is a resident of Khandari Bazaar in Lucknow, while Mukesh is a resident of Ravidasnagar in Bhadohi. During interrogation, both of them told that they were associated with an interstate drug smuggling gang, which used to supply MDMA to Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Mumbai and Bihar. Mujeeb also told that he used to prepare MDMA by mixing chemicals at his home and this process was taught to him by Varanasi resident Abhay Singh. Abhay Singh has earlier been arrested with MDMA in Mumbai and has recently been released from jail. The smugglers also revealed that they were supplying MDMA to different districts also.
