Uttarakhand Weather Update: The weather is going to be clear in Uttarakhand today. The morning will start with cold in both the mountains and plains, while by afternoon the weather will feel somewhat respite due to light sunshine. The first cold of December has now started being felt in the entire state and with this, the effect of fog, light wind and falling temperature is also visible on the daily routine of the people. According to the Meteorological Department, the sky is expected to remain clear in most areas across the state on December 2 and there is no possibility of any rain.
The morning of 2nd December will start with severe cold in Uttarakhand. Morning temperatures in plain areas like Dehradun, Haridwar, Rishikesh and Haldwani may range between 8°C to 11°C, while hilly districts like Mussoorie, Nainital, Pauri, Tehri and Chamoli are likely to record minimum temperatures of 2°C to 6°C. Light fog is expected to persist in the morning. The morning cold will be even more effective in the mountains, because both humidity and altitude drop the temperature rapidly. At this time the sky will be clear and the wind speed will be very light.
The weather of Uttarakhand will become quite comfortable by afternoon. Because if the sky is clear, the sun will rise faster. In cities like Dehradun, Rishikesh and Haridwar, the temperature can reach between 18°C to 22°C, due to which mild warmth will be felt. At the same time, the afternoon temperature in the hilly districts is likely to remain between 10°C to 15°C, which is considered pleasant according to the hilly winter. The sky will be clear in the afternoon and the balance of sunshine with cool breeze will make this weather very calm and mildly warm. Light haze or fog may persist in many areas, but visibility will be normal and there is no possibility of any problem.
As the evening approaches, the temperature in Uttarakhand will start falling rapidly. After 7 o’clock the temperature in Dehradun and surrounding areas will fall to the level of 12°C to 14°C, while at night it may also go below 9°C. The evening temperature in hilly areas will be between 6°C to 10°C and by night it may fall to 0°C to 4°C. Especially in Chamoli, Bageshwar and Uttarkashi. Light fog will start increasing again in the evening and due to increase in moisture in the air, the effect of cold will be felt more. The night sky will remain clear, due to which the temperature will drop even more rapidly.
Estimated temperature of major cities of the state
In Dehradun on December 2, the minimum temperature can be around 8°C and the maximum temperature can be around 20°C. The minimum in Rishikesh is expected to be around 10°C and maximum around 22°C. Haridwar will be very cold in the morning and the temperature can start from 9°C and go up to 21°C in the afternoon. The minimum temperature in Nainital is likely to be 3°C and maximum around 12°C, while in Mussoorie a minimum of 4°C and maximum of 13°C can be recorded. The temperature in Udham Singh Nagar will be between 11°C to 22°C amid light fog in the morning. Hilly districts like Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag and Chamoli will feel the cold even more and temperatures will often range between 2°C to 14°C.
