Bareilly : A big center of cultural and mythological knowledge is being prepared for Shiva devotees in Bareilly. This project, being developed as Nath Corridor, will take the form of traditional libraries along with modern digital libraries. Nath Corridor is being developed by connecting seven major mythological Shiva temples of the city. Of these, Vedic libraries will be established especially in 6 Nath temples and Tulsi Math. A collection of Vedas, Puranas, Upanishads and other mythological and historical texts will be available here. Along with this, digital copies of all these texts will also be made available to the readers, so that both devotees and researchers can benefit.
Bareilly is called the city of Shiva, because 6 self-proclaimed Shivalingas of Lord Bholenath are established here. Renovation, beautification and libraries are being arranged in the Bareilly Nath corridor being developed under the Chief Minister’s Project, so that the coming devotees can connect deeply with devotion, faith, religion, culture, Vedas and Puranas. Alakhnath Temple, Trivatinath Temple, Bankhandi Nath Temple, Madhinath Temple, Dhopeshwar Nath Temple, Tapeshwar Nath Temple and Pashupatinath Temple have been included in this project. Along with this, a special center and library for the study of Vedic scriptures is also being established in Tulsi Math, where devotees and researchers will get the opportunity to study the ancient texts in detail.
Where is the first Islamic library?
Senior journalist and historian Dr. Rajesh Kumar Sharma tells that earlier there used to be a famous library at Qutubkhane intersection of Bareilly city, which was known as Bareilly Library. The environment for studying here was very good. Dr. Sharma told that the history of Bareilly dates back to the Mahabharata period and it is famous as the city of Shiva. The first Islamic library of India and the world “Khwaja Qutb” is also located in the city. Under the Bareilly Nath Corridor Project, work will be done to connect six major Shiva temples of the city through one route. Libraries will be established in all these temples, in which religious texts, Sanskrit heritage, Vedas, Puranas and Upanishads will enhance the beauty of the museum. With this, the devotees coming will be able to stay connected with the history of Bareilly and Panchal city.
Youth will be able to connect with religion and culture
Bareilly resident and a big devotee of Lord Bholenath, Rahul Singh Rajput says that the Shiva temple of the city is the biggest symbol of faith. Students and youth can connect with their religion and culture through libraries established in 6 major temples. He appeals to everyone to go to the libraries built in temples and study Sanskrit, Vedas, Puranas and Upanishads, so that they can get information about Sanatan culture and beliefs related to Shiva.
