The specialty of Birra Roti is that it is made not only from wheat, but by mixing gram, peas and barley with wheat. Dr. R.P. Paroha told that, in olden times, people used to eat this bread and this used to maintain their strength and energy. To make it, about 2 kg of barley, peas and gram are mixed in 10 kg of wheat and ground. Doctor Paroha explains that this mixed flour is mixed with some celery, salt and some ghee or oil and the dough is kneaded in the usual way.
