She played the Junior Nationals shortly after her debut in 2014, but after that some circumstances arose that made Bhavana say goodbye to Kabaddi. Netra Singh and Prem Thakur of Mandi District Kabaddi Association reached Bhavna’s house. Both of them, with the help of father Prem Singh, talked to Bhavna and motivated her to play again. She also made her swear on God that she will not stop playing. After that Bhavna never looked back. Bhavna tells that it feels great to win the World Cup today. Now his next target is to win gold medal in Asian Games.
Government should respect us too
Bhavna told that the government has announced to give rewards worth crores and government jobs to the winning cricket players. Congratulated them over phone while we were congratulated on social media. We regret this but hope that the government will give us the same respect. Giving a message to the youth, Bhavna said that they should never deviate from their goals. Even if you fail, keep fighting. One day you will definitely get success. I myself have got success after 11 years.
She also deserves the same respect
Mandi District Kabaddi Association President Shyam Lal Thakur said that today governments need to look at all the players equally. Bhavana Thakur has made an important contribution in India winning the World Cup, hence she also deserves the same respect which is being given to other world champions. Mandi District Kabaddi Association is always engaged in encouraging the players. Many players have won medals at the national level, but Bhavana is the first player to bring a medal at the international level. In future we will pay full attention to preparing more such players.
