Dietician Kamini Sinha of Diet Mantra Clinic, Noida told StuffUnknown. Dry fig is very beneficial for health, but before eating it, it should be soaked in water overnight. You can consume this fig on an empty stomach in the morning. By soaking figs, the nutrients present in it become active and the absorption of fiber increases. This makes digestion easier and provides relief from constipation. Many people eat figs without soaking them, which can cause digestive problems. If you eat figs properly, your body can gain strength.

Why is it beneficial to eat figs on an empty stomach?

The dietitian told that figs should be eaten on an empty stomach in the morning. With this, the body gets fiber, minerals and antioxidants immediately. This helps in keeping the stomach clean, intestines healthy and provides energy throughout the day. Eating figs on an empty stomach in the morning speeds up metabolism, which can help in reducing weight. Figs are rich in calcium and magnesium, while protein and calcium are also present in milk. Therefore, drinking figs boiled in hot milk at night is very beneficial for increasing bones, muscles and strength.

How many figs is it okay to eat daily?

Fig is rich in nutrients, but it should be consumed in balanced quantity. It is not right to eat it in large quantities. Eating 2 to 3 dried figs daily is enough. Eating figs in large quantities can increase blood sugar and cause gas problems. This can also cause flatulence and diarrhea.
