Vaishali News: Under the joint aegis of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India and Bihar State Disaster Management Authority, the Yuva Aapda Mitra seven-day training program for the volunteers associated with Bharat Scouts and Guides was inaugurated from 11 December to 17 December at Scout Bhawan, Hajipur.
Under the joint aegis of National Disaster Management Authority, Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India and Bihar State Disaster Management Authority, Yuva Aapda Mitra seven-day training program for volunteers associated with Bharat Scouts and Guides was inaugurated from 11 December to 17 December at Scout Bhawan, Hajipur. The program was formally inaugurated by District Officer Vaishali Mrs. Varsha Singh.
In the inaugural session, the District Officer provided disaster kits to all the participants receiving training. Motivated the youth to play an active role in disaster risk reduction. He said that Youth Disaster Mitras are that powerful group in the society, which first comes forward to help at the time of any disaster. Trained youth not only keep themselves safe but also have the ability to keep the entire community safe in disaster. This type of training develops leadership, readiness and service spirit among the youth. Such training programs are important steps towards making the district disaster resistant and increasing public participation.
Aapda Mitra 7 Day Training Program
It was also said that the district administration will provide all necessary support for the successful operation of this scheme. The program is being conducted by the team of SDRF’s Expert Inspector Akhilesh Kumar, in which the participants are being given intensive training in various practical techniques including first aid, search and rescue, fire safety, CPR, flood and earthquake management. Scout-guide volunteers from various districts of Bihar, especially Vaishali and Samastipur, participated in the program. This program was conducted by District Organization Commissioner Rituraj. On this occasion, District Disaster Officer, Senior Advisor of Bihar State Disaster Management Authority Dr. Jeevan Kumar, Chandan Kumar, Sampat Kumar, Dheeraj Kumar Verma, Saurabh Kumar, Chittaranjan Kumar Sharma and dozens of officials were present.
