The vegetable made from radish and its leaves not only tastes amazing, it is also very beneficial in terms of health. Now whenever you buy radish, do not throw away its leaves, rather make a tasty vegetable out of it.
80 year old Keshakali tells that to make radish leaves vegetable, firstly radish leaves, mustard oil, celery, green chilli, turmeric powder, red chilli powder are required.
Keep the ingredients in this ratio
Radish leaves: 1 cup (finely chopped)
Mustard Oil: 1 tbsp
Ajwain: half teaspoon
Asafoetida: a quarter teaspoon
Ginger: 1/4 tsp (grated)
Green chilly: 2 (finely chopped)
Turmeric Powder: half teaspoon
chilli powder: half teaspoon
Salt: as per taste
Method of making radish curry
Keshkali tells that first of all wash the radish and its leaves thoroughly in water 3 to 4 times. Chop its stalk and leaves also finely. You can also add chopped radish. You can also chop spinach and mix it.
Now heat mustard oil in a pan and add asafoetida and carom seeds to it. Now when it turns light brown, add grated ginger to it and fry for 2 minutes. Then add finely chopped green chillies and chopped radish, leaves and stalk.
Cover them and cook on low flame until the leaves become soft. Now add turmeric powder, red chilli powder and salt as per taste and mix well. Cover and let it cook until the radish becomes soft. Radish leaf vegetable is ready. Serve it with hot roti, paratha or puri and enjoy winter.
