New Delhi. Many times during the train journey, eunuchs come and make obscene gestures if the money is not paid, due to which the women and children sitting around you also feel uncomfortable. You cannot do anything even if you want to. But now you don’t need to worry. Railways has given an easy way to avoid these. By which we can get rid of them.
Dilip Kumar, Executive Director, Information and Propagation, Ministry of Railways, said that if eunuchs harass you in the train, make inappropriate gestures to forcibly extort money, then you should immediately go to ‘Rail Madad App’ on your mobile or complain on 139. Railways is taking immediate action on such complaints. So that passengers do not face any problem during the journey.
Railways is running a campaign against misbehavior with passengers in trains and railway stations and those who extort money. In this campaign, around 40 people were found who were extorting money from passengers by misusing their identity as eunuchs.
From January to November, Railway Protection Force took action against such persons who were harassing passengers by traveling erratically in trains. During this time, some conscious passengers lodged complaints on the ‘Rail Madad’ portal, on which prompt action was taken.
All post and outpost in-charges of Railways have been instructed to maintain vigilance, conduct regular checks on trains and platforms and ensure immediate effective action, if necessary. Along with this, there is an appeal to the passengers to immediately inform the Railway Protection Force, Helpline 139 or the nearby personnel on duty in such a case.
Railways says that the convenience and safety of passengers is priority. Under this, continuous investigation is being done in trains and stations. Such measures will be further tightened. Strict action will be taken against such people.
