Amethi: The Central Government’s ambitious ‘Ayushman Bharat Jan Arogya Yojana’ is proving to be very beneficial for the poor families of Amethi district. Ayushman Bharat Yojana has also helped those families who were suffering from serious illness and lose the battle of their life, but they have got the benefit of new lease of life and treatment through this card itself. Due to this, they are benefiting today and this entire scheme is proving to be a lifesaver for poor families.
Lakhs of people registered
Through this scheme, which was started in the year 2018 in the state as well as in Amethi district, lakhs of people of the district have been registered through this scheme till now. Along with this, several thousand people have also taken the benefit of this scheme through Ayushman cashless treatment. According to the data in the district, at present 5 lakh 71 thousand 892 beneficiaries are associated with this scheme, whose Ayushman card has been issued. Along with this, till now 51 thousand patients have been treated in the district ranging from common diseases to serious diseases. A total amount of more than Rs 81 crore has been spent on this and the eligible beneficiaries are continuously getting this benefit.

Dr. Anoop Tiwari, the officer in-charge of the scheme, told Local 18 that the Ayushman Bharat scheme is a boon for the poor. He said that this scheme is proving to be a lifeline for the economically weaker section. Earlier he had to take a loan for treatment. Their treatment is now being done easily without any delay. While giving information, he even said that the treatment for which lakhs of rupees are spent has also become possible in Amethi district. That too is available to the patients free of cost. Through the scheme, by showing Ayushman card, patients in Amethi have been treated for minor to serious diseases. Heart disease, kidney disease, hip replacement, complex eye operations and other serious diseases have been treated in Amethi district.
Facilities available in hospitals
Scheme in-charge Dr. Anoop Tiwari said that in the listed government and private hospitals, the beneficiaries only have to show their Ayushman card, after which they get the facility of ‘cashless’ treatment. He said that it is our endeavor that no eligible person in the district is deprived of this facility.
These hospitals have been identified
More than 20 hospitals have been identified in Amethi district including Abhay Eye Hospital, Radheshyam Satya Prakash Trauma Centre, Indira Gandhi Eye Hospital, Janta Eye Hospital, Dr Ganga Prasad Chikitsaalaya, Om Sai Hospital, Surya Hospital, Sanjay Gandhi Hospital Munshiganj. Treatment can be done in this. Along with this, many big hospitals of the state are also associated with this scheme, due to which the patients are getting direct benefits. He said that it is our endeavor that no eligible person in the district is deprived of this facility.
