Heritage Market of Uttarakhand: Even though Bageshwar city has moved towards modernity with time, the main market here still preserves within itself the fragrance, color and charm of the 20-25 years old era. Be it old businessmen or senior tourists, everyone believes that the traditional spirit of the market is still alive. About two decades ago, this market used to be characterized by two and three-storey houses decorated with wooden carvings, which reflected the fine workmanship of local artisans. Even today, there are 12 to 15 such historical houses present in the streets of the market, whose wooden frames, flower-leaf carvings, old roofs and narrow but beautiful verandahs take the passers-by to the past.
