KorbaNow farmers are bringing a big change in their farming methods in Korba, the energy capital of Chhattisgarh, Dependence on chemical fertilizers like urea and DAP for decades had weakened the fertility of fields, At the same time, human health was also indirectly affected, Facing these challenges, the farmers here are now moving towards natural farming, which is not only improving the health of the land but also raising hopes of safe and nutritious food in the future,
Due to excessive use of chemical fertilizers, the natural structure of the soil was being destroyed, due to which the cost of crop production was increasing and the incidence of pests was also increasing continuously. As a permanent solution to these problems, many farmers are now returning to the lap of nature. They are understanding that healthy soil is the basis of healthy crops and healthy life.
soil made fertile without chemical fertilizers
In this new initiative, progressive farmer Bharat Ram Rathiya of Bandha Pali village has emerged as a source of inspiration. This time he has grown his entire crop using natural methods and the results have been very encouraging. Bharat Ram says that he did not spray any kind of chemical fertilizer in his fields. We did not even mention chemical fertilizers. Only cow dung fertilizer was applied in the field, due to which the soil has come back to life.
Bharat Ram prepared a unique and effective mixture to protect the crop from pests and diseases. He used cow dung, cow urine and gram flour-chilli solution, which was sprayed on the crops at regular intervals. This organic spraying not only kept away harmful insects, but also made the crops naturally strong and disease resistant. This time there has been a bumper crop of paddy in his field, from which he has full hope of good income.
Many benefits of natural farming
Natural farming has many far reaching benefits. It increases the biological activity of soil, improves water holding capacity and keeps it fertile for a longer period. Crops free from chemical residues are not only tasty to eat and rich in nutrients, but are also extremely beneficial for health. For farmers, it is becoming a means to reduce costs, maintain soil health and earn more profits from net produce.
After his success, Bharat Ram Rathiya has appealed to other farmers to abandon chemical farming and return to nature. He firmly believes that it is not just a question of his personal income, but also of the health of Mother Earth and ensuring toxin-free food for future generations. The farmers of Korba are now laying the foundation of a healthy and prosperous future by becoming a part of this green revolution.
