Let us tell you that banks will remain closed across the country today because today is the second Saturday of the month. According to the rules of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), banks remain closed on every second and fourth Saturday of the month.
Today is also Kanakdas Jayanti
Kanakdas Jayanti is being celebrated today in Karnataka. Due to this, today is a public holiday there. The birth anniversary of 16th century poet-saint, musician and philosopher Kanakadas is celebrated with great pomp throughout the state. This year is the 525th birth anniversary of Kanakadas, hence government offices, schools and banks will remain closed in Galuru. Kanakdas is one of the major poets of the Bhakti movement, who gave the message of love, equality and devotion in the society. His birth anniversary is celebrated every year on 8th November in his memory.
When is the next holiday?
There are no other holidays this month after today. Now the next holiday will be on 1st December because on this day State Foundation Day and Indigenous Faith Day will be celebrated in some selected places like Itanagar and Kohima respectively. Apart from this, according to the holiday list of RBI, banks will remain closed in many different states between November 5 and 9. However, there will be no bank holiday simultaneously across the country. Along with being closed on all Sundays, banks will also remain closed on 22nd November, which is the fourth Saturday of the month.

During bank closure, people can resort to online or mobile banking and complete tasks like bill payment, money transfer etc. ATMs are also open 24 hours so there is no problem of cash. Apart from this, funds can also be transferred through NEFT/RTGS transfer form, demand draft request form and check book form.
