New Delhi. The world’s veteran investor Warren Buffet is now on his way to retirement. He will no longer write the annual report of his company Berkshire Hathaway. Buffett, who managed the company for 60 years, has written a ‘farewell’ letter to the shareholders. In this letter, he has not only told about his life but has also requested to improve the society by helping others. Warren Buffet has spent his life in Omaha. He has also explained in his letter the reason why he did not settle in Washington or New York despite being a veteran investor.
Buffett, the owner of assets worth around Rs 13 lakh crore, said that he wants his children to return most of his wealth to the society through his foundations. Buffett made about Rs 12 thousand crores. Donation of 1800 ‘A’ shares has also been announced in this letter. Buffett wrote that he wants to remain calm now. He wrote, “Being alive at the age of 95 is no less than a miracle for me. I almost died in my childhood. Once in 1938, I had a severe stomach ache. I had to go to the hospital at night, where I had appendix surgery.
Why didn’t you leave your city?
Buffett wrote that he bought his first and only house in Omaha in 1958 for $31 thousand. Stayed in Washington and New York for a few years, but soon returned back to Ohio. According to Buffett, “I soon understood that Omaha is my home. Perhaps there is some magic in the water here. The world of friends, family, simplicity and honesty that I found here was my real asset. Had I been in any other city, perhaps I would not have been able to do so well.”
it’s all a game of luck
Buffett wrote that luck takes you to the right place. Growing old is not an achievement, it is a blessing of fate. Some people are born with privileges, while others have their share of struggle. He wrote, “I was born in America. Healthy, white, male, and in a middle-class family. It was the jackpot.”
Greg Able was told to be smart
Buffett praised Greg Able, who became the CEO of Berkshire Hathaway. He wrote, “Greg Able recognizes the risks that many experienced CEOs ignore. I too have failed to take timely action in such situations. Once, companies were asked to make the salaries of CEOs and employees public. But this did not increase transparency, but increased jealousy.”
Don’t be afraid of mistakes
Buffett said don’t be afraid of mistakes. learn move. Identify and emulate the right heroes. When Alfred Nobel accidentally read his own obituary, he decided to change this and started the Nobel Prize. Don’t wait for any newspaper’s mistake. Decide today what you want your story to be. Live the same life. Greatness does not come from money, fame or power. Only by helping someone can you create a better world. Remember, treat others the way you want to be treated. The sweeper is as much a human being as Chairman Warren Buffet.
