Till now the name of the bidder has not been disclosed by the administration.

In fact, Charkhi Dadri district and Badhra sub-division have come into limelight after vehicle registration number ‘HR88B8888’ received a huge bid of Rs 1.17 crore on the fancy number auction portal of Haryana Transport Department. However, till now the transport officials have not shared the name of the person who won the bid. It is certain that after depositing the fees, the honoree will get an authorization letter from the headquarters and only after that the documents will have to be submitted for the registration process.
According to the information, HR88 is the number series of the Regional Transport Office (RTO) in Badhra subdivision of Charkhi Dadri district. According to sources, this bid has been placed online by a person named Sudhir from Hisar. However, no one’s name has been confirmed yet. It is being told that the base price for the bid was fixed at Rs 50,000, which included a security amount of Rs 10,000 and a registration fee of Rs 1,000.
The registration code ‘HR’ is assigned to Haryana while ’88’ is the Regional Transport Office (RTO) number representing Badhra subdivision in Charkhi Dadri district of the state. Regional Transport Office Badhra and SDM Ashish Sangwan said that online bidding of vehicle numbers is done, they have no information about the name of Honor as of now.
He told that online bidding of vehicles is done at the headquarters level. The authorization letter will be received only after the bid amount is deposited and after that the owner will have to submit the documents for registration. The process of vehicle registration will start only after the documents arrive. It is not yet known who has placed the beading of the fancy number ‘HR88B8888’. Information will be given when the documents arrive in the office.

It is noteworthy that bidding was also done in the online auction in Kotkhai, Shimla, Himachal Pradesh. The online auction for one scooter number went up to Rs 1 crore seven thousand. However, later no one came to collect the number and the bid was declared fake. However, after the case made headlines, the government also changed the rules of online auction.
