Indian Export: No matter how much America tried to harm India’s exports by imposing tariffs, other countries of the world immediately took our products. It is reported that India’s textile exports have increased by 10 percent in the last 6 months, which has compensated for the loss of the tariff.
New Delhi. When US President Donald Trump tried to harm India’s business by imposing tariffs, 111 countries of the world opened their doors. The biggest impact of this American tariff was on the textile sector, but now the concerns of exporters are almost over. The Textile Ministry has said that the export of clothes from India to 111 countries of the world has increased. There has been a jump of more than 10 percent in the first 6 months of the current financial year.
According to the Textile Ministry, textile exports to 111 countries have increased by 10 percent on an annual basis during April-September. This reflects remarkable strength in the first half of FY 2025-26 despite global headwinds and tariff challenges in key markets. These 111 markets contributed $ 8489 million during April-September 2025, compared to $ 7718.5 million last year, which shows an increase of 10 percent or $ 770.3 million. However, there has been a marginal growth of 0.1 per cent in global exports of stitched garments on an annual basis during April-September 2025.
Which countries have the biggest demand?
The Textiles Ministry said that in these 6 months, India has registered impressive growth in some major export markets. Among them are United Arab Emirates (14.5 percent), Britain (1.5 percent), Japan (19 percent), Germany (2.9 percent), Spain (9 percent) and France (9.2 percent). The major sectors driving this growth include ready-made garments (RMG) which grew by 3.42 per cent. An increase of 5.56 percent has been recorded in jute. The Textile Ministry said that this performance shows the adaptability and competitiveness of the sector amid global uncertainties. India’s continued expansion into non-traditional markets reflects the success of initiatives and government policies such as ‘Make in India’ and ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’.
Record export of copper to China
India’s exports are increasing tremendously in every sector. Although we import refined copper, we are still exporting concentrated copper. Its maximum export is to China and this time Chhattisgarh has exported concentrate copper in record quantity. A senior official of Chhattisgarh government said that the state has achieved a big achievement by exporting 12,000 tonnes of copper concentrate to China. This is the largest consignment of this mineral in the country so far.
Where was so much copper produced
According to the official, this historic consignment of 12,000 tonnes of copper concentrate was dispatched from the Multi-Modal Logistics Park (MMLP) located in Nava Raipur. This is not only a historic step in terms of commerce, but it also reflects the growing strength of Chhattisgarh in India’s industrial and logistics landscape. Of this consignment, the first rake carrying 2,200 tonnes of copper was dispatched from Visakhapatnam port on November 11 and the remaining rakes will also be dispatched soon.
