Therefore, what we eat, when we sleep, what kind of daily routine we have, all have a great impact on our body. When our circadian rhythm remains correct, our digestion, secretion of hormones, the amount of calories burned throughout the day, everything is in better balance. In such a situation, if we match our meal time with the natural rhythm of the body, it can help in maintaining stable energy, mood and sleep. In this situation, if we eat dinner a little earlier in winter, it will improve our mood, metabolism and health.
Many diseases occur in late eaters
Dr. Katherine Norton says that Professor Norton suggests that the best time to have dinner should be between 5:30 pm and 7:00 pm. If this is not possible at this time, then food should be taken at least two to three hours before sleeping. Studies have also shown that eating food late at night increases many parameters of the body including blood sugar. The study found that those who ate dinner at 10 pm increased their blood sugar by 20 percent and burned 10 percent fewer calories as compared to those who ate dinner at 6 pm. Professor Norton, based on 29 trials, said that there are many benefits of eating early, eating less frequently and consuming more calories in the early part of the day. This helps in weight loss as well as in maintaining better metabolism. This also reduces blood pressure, blood sugar and cholesterol levels.
When not to eat
Dr. Catherine says that do not eat right before sleeping, because other research has also found that if you eat right before sleeping then it increases the risk of obesity and type 2 diabetes. In view of recent findings, experts say that keeping your meal timings in line with the body’s circadian rhythm helps in preventing metabolic disorders. If along with this you maintain proper exercise and lifestyle, then the risk of many diseases reduces. Dr. Catherine said that there is no need to make strict rules. Adapting your lifestyle according to your body is the real key to a healthy life. The best lifestyle is the one that is in harmony with the biology of your body. So rather than rigid rules, consider meal timings as a flexible tool in your nutrition toolkit. The real focus should be on eating wisely. If you eat food after 9 pm and feel lethargic or sleep poorly in the morning, then an experiment can be done to shift the meal time a little earlier.
