Bhoot Shuddhi Vivah: Actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu married film producer Raj Nidimoru on Monday at the Linga Bhairavi temple of Isha Yoga Center in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. The intimate ceremony attended by close family and friends was conducted as per the eternal yogic tradition of Bhoot Shuddhi marriage. It is a unique abhishekam designed to create a deep elemental (element related or real) bond between the spouses beyond thoughts, emotions or physicality.
This ritual symbolizes union at a fundamental level, fostering a deep spiritual bond between the partners. The wedding rituals of Samantha and Raj started at 6:00 in the morning. Samantha Ruth later announced her marriage with ‘The Family Man’ filmmaker by sharing several ethereal pictures from the ceremony on Instagram with the caption ‘01.12.2025’ and adding two white heart emojis. Bhoot Shuddhi Vivah is not just for the bride and groom, but it benefits everyone who participates in it. This is the oldest marriage system of the Yogic period which has been tried to be carried forward by Sadhguru. Till now, more than a thousand couples from India and abroad have performed Bhoot Shuddhi marriage.

The ritual involves the purification of the five elements—earth, water, fire, air, and sky—allowing the couple to connect with each other on a deeper elemental level. It invokes the blessings of the Goddess for harmony, prosperity and spiritual coordination in their union.

What types of rituals are there?
This marriage takes place in the sacred abode of Linga Bhairavi.

In this marriage, there are five rounds, one for each element i.e. earth, water, air, fire and sky.
After five rounds, the pendant of Linga Bhairavi Devi and Mangalsutra of turmeric is worn.
Mantras are chanted during this entire process due to which the atmosphere becomes completely sacred.
Who can do this marriage?
Couples who want to deepen their relationship spiritually can perform this ritual. Engaged and married couples can also perform this ritual. This ritual cannot be performed if the bride is pregnant. This ceremony is suitable for anniversaries or important birthdays such as 50th or 80th.
Where can this marriage take place
Most of the Bhoot Shuddhi marriages are conducted at Linga Bhairavi Niwas, Isha Yoga Centre. If someone wants to organize it at other places also, then it can be done through the team and trained volunteers of Isha Yoga Center. It is generally a closed and traditional ceremony. It requires a certain kind of dress code and arrangement.
