Patna. Patna Police has got a big success under the campaign being run against drugs. Taking action in Kankarbagh police station area, police have arrested three drug smugglers. About 1000 intoxicating injections and a large consignment of brown sugar have been recovered from the accused. This action has dealt a major blow to the drug trafficking network operating in the capital. SSP Abhinav Aggarwal said that the recovered intoxicant injections were being brought from Himachal Pradesh and Gujarat through carriers. There were preparations to illegally consume these narcotics in Patna. Police had received secret information that intoxicating injections and brown sugar were being delivered in Kankarbagh area, after which a special team was formed and a raid was conducted. According to the police, initial investigation has revealed that an organized drug trafficking gang is behind this, which was procuring narcotics from other states and supplying them in Bihar. The arrested accused are being interrogated and other people associated with their network are being identified. The SSP said that Patna Police is working on the policy of “zero tolerance” against drugs. More people associated with this gang may be arrested in the coming days. At present, a case has been registered under relevant sections and further action is being taken.
