Uttarakhand Weather News: The weather of Uttarakhand is ready to take a turn on 4th December. Amidst the prolonged dry cold, there is now a possibility of rain and snowfall in the hilly areas, due to which the weather patterns in the plains and hilly areas of the state may change.
Rishikesh: In Uttarakhand, the day of December 4, 2025 is very important in terms of weather compared to previous days. After a long dry cold, there are already signs of change in the weather. The Meteorological Department has predicted rain in some parts and snowfall in the mountains. The effect of this change can be seen in both the plains and hilly areas of the state. It is possible that with this change there may be a big difference in temperature between day and night and frost or fog may also occur in many areas.
Why is the weather changing?
Meteorologists say that due to the influence of a weather system active in Northern India, there are chances of rain in the hilly areas and snowfall in the higher places from December 4. The weather was somewhat uncomfortable due to dry cold, frost and fog that had prevailed for the last several days. Now this situation seems to be changing, due to which the weather patterns may change suddenly.
Weather forecast, forecast for the day
According to the information received from the Meteorological Department, the beginning of the morning on December 4 will be dry and cold. The morning temperature in the plains may remain around 5–8°C. At the same time, the temperature in the hilly areas is likely to fall by 2–4°C. Visibility may be reduced due to frost or fog and there is a warning of frost on the roads. By afternoon, slight relief may be seen in the weather. Because there is a possibility of sunshine, and the temperature may rise to 16–20°C in many areas (in the plains).
The temperature in the hilly areas is expected to be 8–12°C in the afternoon. This can make the weather feel pleasant for a few hours of the day. But as soon as evening approaches, the temperature will start falling again. In the plains the temperature is expected to reach 8–10°C in the evening, while in the mountains the temperature may drop to around 0–2°C at night. The effect of frost and fog can be seen again at night and in the morning, due to which the cold will be felt very intense.
Where is the probability of rain and snowfall?
From December 4, towards some higher areas of the state, especially those places where the altitude is 3000 meters or more. There is a possibility of light to moderate snowfall along with rain. After noon and afternoon the temperature will start falling. The possibility of snowfall and frost will be especially high in those areas. Along with this, if it rains, then humidity and cold may increase at some places in the plains. However, there will not be rain or snowfall everywhere. Some plains, especially in the low-lying areas, are likely to have sunny and dry weather during the day.
