Try something new this time, make crispy pakora of rice and potatoes, children will be happy, note down the recipe.

The pleasure of eating hot pakodas in winter or rainy season is different. Usually pakodas are made from gram flour, but if you have leftover rice and boiled potatoes, then crispy pakodas made from them are amazing in taste and crunchiness. This recipe is not only easy but also makes great use of leftover food. Let us learn how to make it and some special tips.

Ingredients (for 4 people)
Boiled rice – 1 cup
Boiled potatoes – 2 medium sized
Gram flour – ½ cup
Rice flour or semolina – 2 tbsp (for crispiness)
Green chilli – 2 finely chopped
Ginger – 1 inch grated
Garlic – 4-5 cloves (finely chopped or paste)
Onion – 1 medium (finely chopped)
Coriander leaves – 2 tbsp
Salt – as per taste
Red chilli powder – ½ teaspoon
Turmeric – ¼ teaspoon
Garam masala – ½ teaspoon
Oil – for frying

Method of preparation
1. Prepare the mixture
First of all, mash boiled potatoes and add boiled rice to it.
Now add onion, green chilli, ginger, garlic and coriander leaves.
Add spices – salt, red chili powder, turmeric and garam masala.
Add gram flour and rice flour (or semolina) and mix well.
If the mixture seems too dry then add some water, but keep in mind that the mixture should remain thick so that the pakodas can be made easily.

2. Shape the pakoras
Make small balls or tikkis from the prepared mixture.
If you want, you can flatten them a little so that they become more crispy when fried.

3. Fry
Heat oil in a pan.
The oil should be on medium flame so that the pakodas get cooked from inside and become golden and crunchy from outside.
Slowly drop the pakodas into the oil and fry until golden.
Place them on tissue paper to remove excess oil.

serving method
Serve hot pakodas with green coriander-mint chutney or tomato sauce. If you want, you can also serve it as a snack with tea.

special tips
To make it more crispy, add some rice flour or semolina to the mixture.
To enhance the taste, you can also add grated carrot or cabbage to it.
If you want a healthy option, you can also make them in air fryer.

In this recipe, carbohydrates are provided from potatoes, energy from rice and protein from gram flour. Vitamins and minerals are also available from green vegetables and spices.
