Baliya. This plant is easily visible on the roadside, ridges of fields, vacant land or forests. It is a thorny and fleshy green plant, whose leaves are thick. In the eyes of people, it is just a useless bush, but it is not ordinary, but a special medicine especially for cold. This plant has been called Snuhi in Ayurveda, while in common parlance it is famous by the name of Sehund. This medicine is no less than a lifesaver. Grandmothers also traditionally used Sehund for many diseases.
Relief from constipation, gas, indigestion
Ayurvedacharya of Ballia, Dr. Subhash Chandra Yadav, who has a long experience of about 15 years, says that Sehund is a very beneficial medicinal plant. Its identity is thorny stem, thick leaves and green fleshy body. It looks simple, but inside it lies the cure for many diseases. This plant is a strong laxative. Consuming the juice of its leaves or stem in limited quantity helps in cleaning the stomach and also cures many other diseases. Take out the milk of Sehund and dip black pepper in it. After this, drying chilli and consuming two grains provides relief from the problems of constipation, gas and indigestion.

Roast Sehund leaves on low flame and extract their juice. Mixing a little salt in this juice and consuming one spoon provides great relief from cough and cold. Mix turmeric powder in Sehund milk and heat it lightly. Applying it on warts provides great relief from swelling and pain. It is also useful in joint pain, arthritis, swelling, wounds (apply by grinding leaves), infection, ear pain, constipation, flatulence, eczema, psoriasis, diabetes and blood sugar imbalance.
