National Senior Citizen Mediclaim – This scheme has been designed for citizens aged 60 to 100 years. Insurance cover ranging from Rs 1 to 10 lakh is available in this. The premium of the policy is decided according to age and from the 31st day onwards, treatment of chronic diseases like sugar, BP is covered. The specialty of this plan is that being a government company, the claim process is simple and reliable. The premium for a plan of Rs 5 lakh is around Rs 28,089.
Oriental Complete Health Protection Scheme – This plan is also for the elderly between 60 to 100 years, in which insurance coverage ranges from Rs 1 lakh to Rs 10 lakh. The biggest facility in this scheme is that the treatment of sugar, BP and other chronic diseases is covered immediately, that is, the waiting period is very short. Apart from this, cashless treatment and treatment facilities are also available in All-India Network hospitals. The annual premium of this policy starts from Rs 4,200 and goes up to Rs 23,360.

New India Senior Plus Mediclaim – This plan is suitable for people between 60 to 80 years of age and is operated by the government company “New India Insurance”. In this, mediclaim of Rs 1 to 5 lakh is available. The policy starts providing cover for chronic diseases from the 31st day. This plan is a good option for senior citizens who want reliable health protection at a low premium. The premium of this policy starts from around Rs 30,450.
United India Family Medicare – This plan is useful for the elderly as well as other family members. In this, coverage ranging from Rs 1 to 10 lakh is available. Health checkup, day-care treatment and cashless facility are its main features. Its premium for 61-65 years age group starts from around Rs 24,071.
