Mahasamund. Some or the other famous item is available to eat in every district of Chhattisgarh. In Bhanwarpur, a small town of Mahasamund district, a simple small stall situated at the main square has today become a symbol of people’s choice and trust. This stall running under the name ‘Raja Gupchup’ has been on a journey of taste for the last 20 years, which has not only improved the financial condition of Raja’s family but has also given an inspiration to the local people that every work leads to success with hard work and quality.
Raja tells Local 18 that sales were very low in the initial days. At that time, 20 Panipuri were available for 10 rupees and the customers were very selective. Although inflation increased with time, prices increased, now five golgappas are available for Rs 10, but the trust of customers is still as strong. Raja says that earlier the crowd was more but the income was less, whereas today the sales may be a little less but the income is more than before.
Good earning in just 6 hours
Raja’s stall is held daily from 2 pm to 8 pm. In this period of just 6 hours, he makes so much sales that he earns about Rs 4000 per day. This income is considered a big achievement for a small businessman. The king’s two sons also help him in this work, which not only helps the family but also helps in running the business in an organized manner.
Customers promote themselves
Raja says that a large number of customers with family also come to his place. The atmosphere, cleanliness and behavior here attracts the customers again and again. The biggest thing is that here the customers themselves become promoters. Due to word of mouth publicity, the patronage is continuously increasing and this is the reason why the identity of this cart has reached far and wide beyond Bhanwarpur.
Raja proudly tells that his place’s Gupchup has become so famous that people from up to 100 kilometers away get parcels for him. This is considered an extraordinary achievement for any small cart. The story of ‘Raja Gupchup’ located in Bhanwarpur of Mahasamund district proves that if the intentions are clear, hard work is continuous and quality is given to the customer, then even a small business can become an example of great success.
