Lucknow News: The matter of saluting the storyteller Pundarik Goswami at the Police Parade Ground in Bahraich has gained momentum. DGP Rajeev Krishna took cognizance and sought clarification from SP RN Singh. Questions have been raised over violation of the set standards of the police parade ground.
The matter of giving ‘Guard of Honor’ by the police to the famous storyteller Acharya Pundarik Goswami at the Police Parade Ground in Bahraich district of Uttar Pradesh is gaining momentum. DGP Rajeev Krishna has taken cognizance after the video of this entire episode went viral on social media.
The DGP has sought clarification from Bahraich Superintendent of Police RN Singh. He clarified that the Police Parade Ground can be used only for police training, discipline and official functions as per the prescribed standards. Considering the violation of these standards as serious, a reply has been sought from SP. UP Police has also clarified the situation by issuing a post on the entire matter on social media platform X.
In the viral video, it can be seen that a red carpet has been laid in the police parade ground, SP RN Singh himself is leading the parade and policemen are seen giving guard of honor to the narrator. During the programme, the narrator also addressed the policemen from the stage.
As the matter escalated, a clarification was issued by Bahraich Police. Police say that during the training, there were incidents of some soldiers resigning due to mental depression. In view of this, Acharya Pundarik Goswami was invited to give a motivational lecture with the aim of boosting the morale of the soldiers and removing stress.
Pundarik Goswami is a young storyteller from Vrindavan, who has been narrating Bhagwat Katha since the age of seven. He has received education from Oxford University and is famous for organizing Katha events in the country and abroad.
