Recently, the police got information that in the last few months, a fine of up to Rs 25 thousand has been collected only in drug cases. Due to this crimes were suppressed. In this way the victims do not get justice and are saved from punishment. According to South-West Division DCP Anita B Hadannavar, the police came to know that cases of crimes against women, theft and drugs were being hidden in the society. Such crimes should have been reported to the police, but they themselves made rules and let them off with a fine. Keeping this in mind, a case has been registered against the association and the security company at Kumbalgodu Police Station.
The police clearly said that the private association has no legal right to investigate the crime or give punishment. It is important to report every crime to the police. The police have appealed to all the society members to immediately inform the police as soon as they get information about the crime, so that it can help in curbing the crime.
