Politics has intensified in West Bengal before the 2026 assembly elections. BJP leader Subhendu Adhikari has promised that the Tata Group will be brought back to Bengal as soon as the party government is formed. He said that BJP’s aim will be to take the state back on the path of industry and employment.
New Delhi. Politics regarding industrial development in West Bengal has once again started heating up. Leader of Opposition in the state Assembly, Subhendu Adhikari, announced on Sunday that if BJP comes to power in the 2026 assembly elections, the Tata Group will be reinvested in Bengal. He said that the departure of Tata Motors from Singur was a big loss for Bengal, which will now be rectified. The official said that if BJP government is formed, a respectable environment will be created for industries and there will be full focus on employment generation.
Singur’s mistake will not be repeated
At a rally organized in Burdwan, Shubhendu Adhikari said that the Tata Group had to leave Singur because at that time a gun was symbolically pointed at Ratan Tata. He said that Ratan Tata himself had said that he was leaving the ‘bad M’ (Mamata Banerjee) and going to the ‘good M’ (Narendra Modi). The official claimed that if BJP comes to power, it will assure companies like Tata that Bengal is now safe and stable for investment.
End corruption, promise of transparent employment
Taking aim at the state government, the official said that Bengal is currently drowned in a debt of Rs 8 lakh crore, where 2.15 crore people are unemployed and 60 lakh laborers have migrated to other states. He said that when the BJP government comes to power, the recruitment process will be completely transparent and the examination will be conducted through OMR sheets so that the role of bribery or middlemen can be eliminated. The official claims that his government will give priority to both employment and investment.
Strict action will be taken against infiltrators
Subhendu Adhikari accused Trinamool Congress of issuing voter and ration cards to illegal infiltrators. He said that if the BJP government is formed, all illegal Bangladeshi and Myanmar origin people will be identified and detained and deported under the ‘SIR Process’. The officer says that unless this reform takes place in Bengal, development of true citizens is not possible.
