Railway Platform ticket- In view of the huge crowd gathering at railway stations, Railways has taken a big decision and has stopped the sale of platform tickets at four major stations. This ban is temporary.
New Delhi. If you are going to the railway station to drop your family member or friend, then you will have to say goodbye to them from outside the station and will not be able to accompany them to the platform. The reason for this is that Railways has stopped selling platform tickets at New Delhi, Delhi Junction, Anand Vihar Terminal and Anand Vihar Halt station. In view of the huge crowd of passengers, Railways has taken a big decision. This decision has been taken to limit the number of passengers at the railway station and to avoid any kind of accident. With this, there will be only those people on the platform who have to catch the train. With this, the crowd can be controlled and the entire system will run smoothly.
Railways has taken this decision due to the huge crowd at the railway station. This ban will remain in effect till 11 November 2025. This ban is only on the sale of platform tickets. Train tickets will continue to be available as before. Passengers can still travel by purchasing train tickets. This rule is only for those people who are coming to the station to pick or drop someone and who need to go to the platform.
These people got exemption
Railways has exempted some people from the ban on reaching the railway platform. People who are going to the station to help the elderly, disabled or women can go to the station even without a platform ticket. That is, to help those people who have difficulty in reaching the station themselves, you can help them by boarding or bringing them in the train even without a platform ticket.
There was a ban earlier also
In view of the huge crowd at Delhi’s railway stations on the occasion of Six Pujas, the Railways had earlier also banned the sale of platform tickets. From October 15 to October 28, platform tickets were not sold at Delhi, New Delhi, Anand Vihar, Ghaziabad and Nizamuddin railway stations.
