Jhansi Latest News: Bundelkhand, which was a symbol of drinking water crisis for decades, now seems to be gradually freed from this curse. Under the Jal Jeevan Mission, which was started in the year 2019, the Har Ghar Nal Se Jal mega project has given new hope to the villages struggling with drought and thirst. The villages of Jhansi district have become the center of this mega project, where pure and safe drinking water is being delivered to every home.
Jhansi: The problem of water in Bundelkhand region is centuries old. The people here struggled for a long time for every drop of water. With the aim of overcoming this serious problem, the Central Government started the Jal Jeevan Mission in the year 2019. The aim of this scheme was to provide clean drinking water through taps even to the last village of Bundelkhand. This mega project, started at a cost of thousands of crores of rupees, gave a special identity to Jhansi district.
Village of Jhansi becomes center of mega project
A small village in Jhansi district became the center of this huge plan. Water treatment plants were built in many tehsils of the district so that clean water can be supplied to homes through taps. Here the water of dams and rivers is being purified and made drinkable. This project has made the lives of thousands of families living in rural areas easier.
Hundreds of kilometers long pipeline from dams
Water from Mata Tila Dam and Parichha Dam is brought to the intake well through hundreds of kilometers long pipeline. After this this water is sent to the water treatment plant. About 10 MLD water is treated here every day. After purification, this water is supplied through taps to the houses in villages and towns.
Purification takes place in water quality laboratory
The water quality laboratory built in every village is an important part of this entire process. Here polluted water has to pass through different stages. Chemical and biological tests are done by taking water samples. The bacteria present in it are removed and the amount of dissolved solids is measured, so that the water can be completely safe.
Purification method shown in laboratory
The team of Local 18 reached the water treatment plant built in Gulara village of Babina assembly constituency. Here the in-charge of the water quality laboratory demonstrated the entire process of purifying water through machines. He told how polluted water coming from dams is made potable by filtering it using different techniques.
Clean water changed the lives of villagers
Under Jal Jeevan Mission, clean water reaching every home through tap is no less than a boon for Bundelkhand. Due to this, not only are people getting pure drinking water, but water borne diseases have also reduced. This mega project is becoming a strong foundation for the development and healthy future of Bundelkhand.
