New Delhi. American multinational fast food restaurant chain KFC has removed the main doors of some of its restaurants in UAE. Where there used to be a door to enter, there is now a big board that reads, “Why do we need a door when we never close?” QR codes have also been given, by scanning which people can reach the KFC outlet. Actually, KFC has done this to effectively convey the announcement of its restaurants being open 24 hours to the customers. Now most of the KFC restaurants in UAE are open 24/7 for customers. By removing the gate, the company has given a clear message that there is no hindrance in movement here. Instead of putting up advertisements or posters, KFC removed the door itself, so that people would immediately understand that this restaurant is open all the time.

Sanders had failed again and again
Colonel Harland Sanders did many things, but before starting KFC, he had only faced failure. Colonel Harland Sanders was born on September 9, 1890 in Henryville Town, Indiana region of America. Colonel’s father died when he was 5 years old. Mother used to work in a factory. The Colonel was the eldest among three siblings. As an elder brother, he took care of everyone. He learned cooking at the age of 7. When he was 12 years old, his mother remarried, his stepfather did not like him, due to which he started living with his aunt.
Sanders also joined the army but due to his young age, he was fired from there after only a year. Worked as a laborer in Railways for some time. After this he lived with his mother and also got married. Later he started insurance business and sold credit cards. He also tried his luck in jobs like making lamps and sailing boats.
Luck changed from chicken stall
At the age of 40 (1930), while running a gas station in Corbin, Kentucky, he began serving homemade fried chicken to passengers. It became so popular that in 1939 he improved his secret recipe and developed a technique to cook chicken faster using a pressure fryer and started a chicken stall. One day the Governor of Kentucky came to eat fried chicken. He liked its taste so much that he gave Harland Sanders the title of colonel. This is considered a very respectable title. The colonel thought that his recipe could be sold in restaurants. He went to many restaurants to sell his fried chicken recipe, but he got no response.
Success achieved at the age of 62
Eventually, a restaurant owner, Pete Harman, accepted his recipe proposal in 1952. This opened the first KFC franchise. This led to a huge increase in the sales of KFC. In October 1963, attorney John Y. Brouse Jr. and businessman Jack C. Macy met with Sanders and asked him to purchase the franchise rights to KFC. Initially refused, but later sold in January 1965 for $2 million.
There was a deal to give 40 thousand dollars to the colonel throughout his life, which was later increased to 75 thousand dollars. He died in 1980 at the age of 90. Sanders remained the brand ambassador of KFC throughout his life. He was always seen with a white suit and black tie. This became his signature look.
