The on-loan Blackpool goalkeeper returned to the starting team for World Cup qualifying due to a shoulder injury that kept Pierce Charles out of the final four games.
With Conor Hazard and Luke Southwood also waiting in the wings, competition for the number one shirt is fierce and Peacock-Farrell feels it is up to him to retain his place in the team.
“I have that opportunity right now and Pierce had his chance when I was injured and he took it and rightly so, fair play to him,” he added.
“When Pierce comes back we’ll have myself, Pierce, Conor and Luke. We’ve got a great group for Michael to choose from so it’s about doing what you can control and that’s your performances at club level and when you’re in the Northern Ireland shirt.”
Northern Ireland’s 2-0 victory against Slovakia at Windsor Park is considered one of the best performances of any of Michael O’Neill’s tenures.
However, there is no guarantee it will be a similar story in Kosice, as Peacock-Farrell accepts it will potentially “be busier”.
“They’re going to have some key players back, we’re missing some key players, but I think they’ll also be careful that we’ve done a lot of damage to them in terms of how we brought them down to earth after their big win over Germany.
“We were incredible against Slovakia and we felt very bad against Germany. In fact, we are in very good shape and playing very well.
“Away games in international football are difficult, but we don’t worry, we are aware of their qualities like in every game, but looking back on my entire career with Northern Ireland, I look at this team and it is really promising and exciting.
“There is a lot of faith, enthusiasm and general ability in this team as well. It’s great to be a part of it.”
