Ban on Adi Kailash and Om Parvat Yatra
In view of the increasing cold, Pithoragarh district administration has decided to stop the inner line permits issued for Adi Kailash and Om Parvat Yatra Darshan 2025 from December 1. Last year this permit was closed from 15th November, which clearly shows that every year the weather affects this journey. According to the information received, this time the number of applications for inner line permit has also been very less.
The Meteorological Department has issued a new forecast regarding the weather of the month of December. According to scientists, there is a possibility of light to moderate fog at many places in the mountainous areas, which will affect visibility. There are signs of fog in the plains like Haridwar and Udham Singh Nagar. This time due to the effect of La Nina and Western Disturbance, the cold of December and January may break records.
Doctors have warned people about the increasing problems like cold, cough, fever, dryness of skin and eyes due to dry cold. The winters of Uttarakhand are at their peak, while on one hand the snow covered natural beauty fascinates the mind, on the other hand this time brings difficult challenges for the local people. Dehradun’s minimum temperature is 8.7°C.
According to the Meteorological Department, the maximum temperature of Dehradun was 27.6°C and the minimum was 8.7°C. Pantnagar recorded maximum of 28.4°C and minimum of 5.0°C. In Mukteshwar the maximum was 18.3°C and the minimum was 6.7°C. New Tehri recorded a maximum of 20.6°C and a minimum of 5.8°C.
