Rakesh said, ‘I was coming with my friends to see the Sarabai fair. It took too long to visit the fair. Some friends told me to stay here but I refused saying that my village is only 3 km away. I will reach on foot. It was night time and it was around 9 o’clock. I came out of a pond alone in the dark of night and saw a small lamb.

He said, ‘The lamb was about one and a half months old. Seeing the sheep, I thought that it must be the village sheep and I picked it up in my lap. I thought that it might have got separated from other sheep, so I would give it to someone in the village.

Rakesh further said, ‘Thinking this, I took him in my lap and continued walking till a field but after this I understood that his weight was gradually increasing. The weight of the same lamb which I had easily held in my lap some time ago, now seemed heavier than quintals.

He said, ‘I understood that this is not a lamb but a ghost. I neither looked ahead nor behind, immediately threw it there and started running. It was raining. I was running from field to field. The slippers got lost in the field. I was breathing hard but running. Somehow he reached home but fell ill.
Rakesh remained in bed for 7 days
He further said, ‘After this accident I became seriously ill. I lay on the bed in my house for about 7 days. I was completely gripped by fever. This shock was so severe that even today this horrifying incident remains engraved in my mind. I am not able to forget it because the person whom I thought was a sheep turned out to be a ghost.
