Three people were killed and three others injured after a bus crashed into a stop in central Stockholm, Swedish police say.
Authorities are trying to establish the identities of the victims. It is unclear if there were any passengers on board.
The circumstances surrounding the accident on Friday at 15:23 (14:23 GMT) on Valhallavägen street in the Swedish capital are still unclear.
The bus driver is being questioned and a homicide investigation has routinely been opened.
The incident occurred near the Royal Institute of Technology university.
Footage from the scene shows rescuers appearing to help people trapped under the double-decker bus.
A witness who owns a shop on the street told SVT that the bus crashed into a pole in front of the bus stop. They said several people ran into the store crying.
One woman told local newspaper Expressen that the bus “knocked down an entire stop queue.”
He said people were screaming and trying to help the injured, while the dead lay on the ground.
“There should have been more people under the bus,” he said.
Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson said his thoughts were with the victims and their families.
“People who could have been on their way home to visit family, friends or spend a quiet afternoon at home. We still don’t know the cause, but now my thoughts are mainly with those affected and their loved ones,” he posted on X.
