Surrendered Maoist Doctor Sukhlal: Sukhlal, who once worked as a doctor in the Maoist organization, has come back under the rehabilitation policy and has now come to Bastar to participate in the Olympics. Local 18 team had a special conversation with Sukhlal.

In Bastar Olympics, along with players from different districts of Bastar, surrendered Maoists and members of families affected by Maoists are also participating in the games organized in the Olympics. A total of 761 surrendered Maoists and Maoist victim members of Bastar district have reached Jagdalpur to participate.
These Naxalites of Bastar once roamed in the forests with modern weapons, but now after joining the mainstream, they are joining the race for medals in Bastar Olympics. Local 18 team talked to Sukhlal, who once worked as a doctor in the Maoist organization. Who had come to play in Bastar Olympics. Sukhlal used to treat Maoists and villagers in Abujhmad area, due to which he is quite famous in Abujhmad. He also had three-not-three rifles. There was a reward of eight lakhs on him. Sukhlal used to work as commander in the doctor team.
Rehabilitated Maoist Sukhlal Juri told Local 18 that he was working as DVC in the Maoist organization. I used to keep three-not-three rifles with me. I used to work in a Naxal organization, but my interest is in working as a doctor. I am famous as ‘Doctor Sukhlal’ in Maad Division and Abujhmad. Everyone knows me.
We have come to Jagdalpur. Many friends have also come. It is a pleasure for me to meet him, talk to him and watch the game in Jagdalpur. Feeling very good. I want to play volleyball. I have written volleyball in the list, but it is possible that I may play another game also. Bastar Olympics is going on in Jagdalpur and in 2025 everyone has come to participate with joy, in which we have also become a part. There is a lot of hope in our minds to play.
